What is HEIC?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on iPhones and iPads since iOS 11. It produces smaller files than JPG with the same quality, but many apps, websites, and devices don't support it. This tool converts your HEIC photos to JPG so you can use them anywhere.

Questions

Frequently asked

Why does HEIC need a server?

Browsers do not ship HEIC decoders. Our Go service uses libheif to decode and re-encode as JPG. Files are deleted immediately after conversion.

Will JPG be bigger than the original HEIC?

Typically yes — HEIC is more efficient. JPG is widely compatible in return.

Is this tool really free?

Yes. MakeMyImgs tools are free to use with no watermarks or account signup. Server-backed tools may apply temporary traffic limits when the API is busy.
