- Will my watermark survive re-compression by Instagram?
- Semi-transparent watermarks placed over textured areas survive re-encoding well. Avoid high-contrast solid overlays over smooth areas.
- Can the watermark be automatically removed?
- Sufficiently opaque watermarks over the subject can only be removed with noticeable artifacts. Watermark placement covers this in the blog post.
- Are my images uploaded to a server?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser — the image is read from your device, processed locally, and never sent anywhere. You can disconnect from the network after the page loads and it still works.
